The COVID-19 pandemic continues to produce anxiety, fear, and sickness. We understand how disconcerting the current situation and both the public and market responses have been. We continue to monitor this dynamic situation very closely and are actively making adjustments to your portfolio as warranted. In the meantime, we want to share some items to help maintain a healthy, biblical perspective. First, God owns it all (Exodus 19:5, Psalm 24:1) and “Behold, he who keeps Israel neither slumbers nor sleeps” (Psalm 121:1). The most often repeated command in scripture is this: Do not be afraid, “For God has not given us the spirit of fear, but of power and love and sound mind” (2 Timothy 1:7). With that we must keep a long-term perspective and wisely apply the biblical principal of diversification to our investments: “Cast your bread upon the water, for after many days it will bring a return. Divide your portion among seven, or even eight, not knowing what misfortune may come upon the earth” (Ecclesiastes 11:1-2).
