This month we spotlight DXC Technology as the newest Shining Light Company. DXC is a global technology company currently headquartered in Tysons Corner, Virginia delivering IT and consulting services to both business and governments. DXC traces its history back to 1959 when Computer Services Corporation (CSC) along with enterprising help from Hewlett Packard, formed a mainframe computer manufacturing company. The next five decades proved fruitful as CSC continued to thrive as they served governments and companies world-wide.
In 1962, another IT company Electronic Data Systems (EDS) was founded in the Dallas, Texas area. EDS was a visionary in technology outsourcing. EDS aided 500 passengers with boarding jet planes, handled the processing of 13 billion credit card transactions and carried out 2.4 billion healthcare transactions. In 2008, Hewlett Packard acquired EDS which created HP Enterprise Services. Both CSC and HPE are known their innovation and always reinventing themselves to “keep pace with the ever-changing world of technology.” In April of 2017, CSC merged with HP Enterprises (formerly EDS) to form DXC Technologies. The combination of both companies has helped create one of the world’s most prominent IT service companies. Today, DXC operates in more than 70 countries with 6,000 clients and approximately $25 billion a year in revenue.
